Project Description

Komatsu provided planning, design, and construction documents for the 4,500sf addition to the existing 15,000sf library. Project goals included updating the interior including existing finishes in public spaces, covered exterior space, upgrade of staff area, furniture, and children’s area while accommodating all desired features in budget.

The new Children’s section can accommodate approximately 200 children. Adjacent to the Children’s area is a movable glass wall that opens from the program room to an exterior patio/covered outdoor program area between the library and activity buildings.

The new space adds storage to accommodate supplies and Family Place components outdoor program area, revised staff workspaces for higher efficiency, family restrooms, and an outdoor covered space.
