Project Description

Komatsu worked with the City of Grand Prairie to design their first branch library in 2001. The City returned to Komatsu in 2016 when they wanted to renovate and enlarge the original 10,097sf facility.

This project was phased in order for the library to remain occupied. The goal was to add 6,430sf dedicated to technology and new concepts in library design allowing for more program space. The updated facility includes programming areas for adults and children, six staff work stations, manager offices, computer stations, and self-checkout stations. Construction was completed on time and in budget.
